"WORTH-WHILE"
Featuring: Josh Dihle, Garrett Durant, Paul Louis Nelson and Sighn
The Chicago Urban Art Society in association with the Chicago Loop Allicance’s Pop-Up Art Loop Program presents the work of Josh Dihle, Garrett Durant, Paul Louis Nelson and Sighn. “WORTH-WHILE” is a part of “INCUBATORS”, a curatorial project and extension of the Chicago Urban Art Society (CUAS) that creates an environment to promote the growth and exposure of young artists in the city.
Curated by: Kevin Wilson
...Every individual is responsible for finding one’s own purpose in life, in whatever manner that’s best fitting, and within this subjective process questions of personal value often arise. “WORTH-WHILE” is an exhibition featuring the work of four artists who explore this area of uncertainty with an emphasis on affirmation in art and the use of one’s practice as a sort of self-help ritual. Heavily based upon text and repetition, common themes in the work arise and a balancing act is created between seemingly positive messages and existential undertones of anxiety and sarcasm.
My work will be in a huge group exhibition called Midnite Snacks, that's in a space that as long as i lived in Chicago was always vacant. Nice to see some art going in there. Looks like it's going to be alot of fun, you should go if you're in Chicago.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the opening. In the end the show had 50 pieces in it. The show is up until February 6th, so if you're in Chicago go on down to 325 W Huron and take a look.
Come to the Exquisite Corpse show called Cadaver Corpse that some of my work is in. It's at Golden Age on May 2nd from seven to eleven in the pm.
reportedly there will be delicious homemade food (vegan and raw) and baked goods and beverages, (and a dj?) Well whatever there is come anyways, it's sure to be just great.
